A maternidade desnuda na ficção de Elena Ferrante e Tati Bernardi: a construção das vozes narrativas e a alteridade

Abstract

The Master's Dissertation provides an analysis and comparison of the novels The Lost Daughter (2016), by the Italian writer Elena Ferrante, and Você nunca mais vai ficar sozinha (2020), by Brazilian writer Tati Bernardi. The goal is to understand in order to reflect on the articulation between the construction of narrative voices and otherness in writings centered on maternal-affective themes. When writing about the inconveniences of motherhood, both authors focus on the individual realism of their protagonists-narrators, renouncing the generally romanticized view of motherhood. Therefore, they choose not to appease the reader through idealized writing on the subject. The novels will be analyzed by the theories of literary critics that we believe provide ways of thinking about the contemporary novel. Furthermore, it is intended to provide an overview of the female figure, especially the mother, in society and in literary writing which culminates in the appearance of these disconcerting texts in contemporary literature, aiding the alterity process
