Abstract

This research talks about how music reveals the Unbewusste. As hypnosis was widely used by Freud to access the human Unbewusste, the suggested hypothesis is that music has the same power of hypnosis; at the same, the music acts as a metaphor for the Unbewusste listening. The overall goal is to understand what the rock enjoying makes reveals the Unbewusste, and is only the style determines the Unbewussteor or if there is another element in the musical aesthetic that touches the Unbewusste. This study does not talks about neuroscience or any other medicine area, but embrace the psychoanalytic study of the power of music. The specific objectives are (i) understand the types of ‘Unbewusste responses’ to the music produced and heard and (ii) understand the various types of groups that are formed according to the musical style. The methodology used was the bibliographical research and the case study through semi-structured interviews with two rock fans through the interview also on life history. The free association of ideas was how psychoanalysis found to understand the mind of the human being and ‘resolve’ or appoint part of their problems. Art is the free association of ideas, like psychoanalysis, which is why Freud used to create paths of psychoanalysis. It was concluded that the style may be indicative of the Unbewusste people, and macro way, that music is a hypnotic, we still need further comprehensive studies to understand really the style is chosen by the unconscious or the unconscious is chosen by style – that is, if the style is even mandatory in hypnosis
