Abstract

This study is inserted in two lines of research inclusion of students with special needs in a regular school and the use of tools in the construction of Mathematics knowledge The study was developed with High School and Elementary school students and its starting point is the Vygotsky position which refers to the process of mediation and the importance of the inclusion of students with special needs in regular schools and subsequently, in the society he/she lives in The methodology approached two phases individual experimentation whose center of research was the student with special needs and in another moment this same student now inserted collectively in his/her school environment performing activities with his/her classmates The study enabled to investigate the difficulties presented by the students with normal sight are the same difficulties presented by students without sight acuity in relation to conceptual difficulties and understanding related to the many activities applied The student could use the proposed tool as an instrument that mediated his/her better understanding in relation to the graphic representation of a function of the first degree
