<description>Título: O poder do discurso político-religioso no Brasil contemporâneo: uma análise crítica do discurso e argumentação do pastor Silas Malafaia

<title>A mulher militar brasileira no discurso midiático: representações, ethos e disputas simbólicas</title>
      <link>https://repositorio.pucsp.br/jspui/handle/handle/46504</link>
<description>Título: A mulher militar brasileira no discurso midiático: representações, ethos e disputas simbólicas
Abstract: This dissertation analyzed the meanings produced in Brazilian media discourse about women in the Armed Forces (FFAA), across three historical periods (1943–2025), with the aim of understanding how these discursive representations have updated, challenged, or maintained the symbolic boundaries of gender within the military field. Grounded in French Discourse Analysis and drawing on the works of Maingueneau, Amossy, and Orlandi, in dialogue with Bourdieu and Castro, the research mobilized notions such as discursive ethos, scenography, interdiscourse, discursive formation, doxa, stereotypes, habitus, and the military field. The corpus consisted of eight widely circulated journalistic texts from different historical moments, combined with testimonies collected through a questionnaire answered by 137 active-duty women in the Armed Forces. The results indicated that the ethos of the military woman was constructed as a tensioned ethos, marked by the need for symbolic legitimation and by the oscillation between recognition and differentiation, between ruptures and continuities. The study also proposed the notion of institutional gender doxa, understood as the set of implicit knowledges that symbolically regulate the limits of female participation within traditionally male institutions. By articulating discursive analysis with empirical listening, this research contributed to a deeper understanding of institutional discourse, media representations, and gender relations, showing that the presence of women in the Armed Forces is permeated by symbolic disputes and that the consolidation of new forms of belonging depends on the production of new meanings in the public sphere

<title>A língua portuguesa na medicina do Brasil colonial: um estudo de historiografia da linguística</title>
      <link>https://repositorio.pucsp.br/jspui/handle/handle/45507</link>
<description>Título: A língua portuguesa na medicina do Brasil colonial: um estudo de historiografia da linguística
Abstract: This thesis is theoretically grounded in Linguistic Historiography, a discipline whose methods, as established by Koerner (1996) and Swiggers(2009), made it possible to outline the object of study, namely: the colonial lexicon in medical and naturalist texts form the 16th and 17th centuries. It also draws on the theoretical framework developed by researcher Altman (2003), whose ongoing studies have explored the conceptions and meanings historically attributed to the Portuguese Language. The aim was to explore, in colonial manuscripts, the interplay between European and Indigenous lexical items within records of medical and naturalist knowledge, bringing to light the conceptions and meanings attributed to the Portuguese Language. The hypothesis the multilingualism within colonial medical and naturalist discourses fostered a lexical expansion and redefinition across communicative, educational, political, cultural, and social domains was formulated as a response to the guiding question of this study: how was the tension between the European lexicon and Indigenous terms expressed in the records of these practices within the colonial context? The corpus was composed of Letters (Cartas) by José de Anchieta (1554-1594) and the Historia Naturalis Brasiliae (1648) by Willem Piso e Georg Marcgrave. This investigation into the conceptions and meanings attributed to the language and lexicon contributes to the constitution and transformation of Colonial Portuguese, through the distinctive features of its publications and the broadening of interdisciplinary interfaces the connect linguistic, historical, cultural and scientific knowledge. The analysis carried out according to Koerner’s contextualization and immanence – highlights numerous linguistic operations undertaken by Dutch and Jesuit agents to address both practical concerns and political-governmental demands. Linguistic instruments such as grammar, dictionaries, glossaries, and word list demonstrate the value attributed to the language and its ongoing standardization efforts. Whereas treatises and letters reflect classical literary models, recipes reveal popular practices of transmission medical knowledge highlighting distinct modes of textual legitimization and knowledge circulation. Linguistic actions aligned with a colonial project are observed, notably through the systematic omission of sources related to Indigenous peoples. The principles and methods of Linguistic Historiography proved effective in addressing this issue, enabling both the reconstruction of circulation narratives and the opening of new theoretical and methodological horizons for ongoing research

<title>As condições de produção no discurso literário Esaú e Jacó, de Machado de Assis</title>
      <link>https://repositorio.pucsp.br/jspui/handle/handle/45450</link>
<description>Título: As condições de produção no discurso literário Esaú e Jacó, de Machado de Assis
Abstract: This thesis examines the conditions of production in the literary discourse Esaú e Jacó, by Machado de Assis, produced in 1904, in Brazil. Our study is based on French Discourse Analysis, especially on the theoretical-methodological assumptions of Maingueneau (1997, 1998, 2000, 2007, 2008a, 2008b, 2008c, 2010, 2013, 2015a, 2015b, 2016a, 2016b, 2016c, 2016d, 2020) about the constitutional literary discourse and literary paratopia. The central problem that this research seeks to solve is: how do the conditions of production underlie the development of the discourse Esaú e Jacó? As research hypotheses, we understand that Machado de Assis's enunciation in the discourse Esaú e Jacó is constituted through an authorial paradox that is based on the socio-historical conditions of production. We also understand that the conditions of production of the lifeworld underlie the development of Machado de Assis' discourse Esau and Jacob. And therefore the conditions of production of the world of the system are not as fundamental as the conditions of production of the world of everyday life. Our general objective is to examine the conditions of production and, through this, to evaluate the elements of the lifeworld and the system that underlie the discourse. As a specific objective, we want to verify the development of scenography, discursive ethos and paratopia based on the conditions of production and interdiscourse. Our thesis innovates by evaluating a corpus traditionally analyzed by Literature and, therefore, little or never examined in light of discourse studies. Furthermore, it seeks to expand the notion of conditions of discourse production, by proposing a division into two complementary levels, conditions of production of the world of life and conditions of production of the world of the system. Everyday experiences, shared evidence, communicative action, etc., make up the world of life; institutional practices are part of the world of the system. The relationship between the conditions of production is one of dependence and colonization, since the system depends on life, but constantly tries to colonize it
