How principles and procedures of interdisciplinary theory can help in changes of teaching practice? This is the generating question of this investigation that arose from an intervention during Portuguese Language classes in a particular University in São Paulo city through 2000 to 2006 and that originated Incentive to the Reading and to the Writing Project. The register occurred in different ways: writing interviews, videos, photos, drawings and books. The relevance of this investigation is the fact of many students presenting difficulties in relation to the oral and writing language. Some of them cannot reflect and argue about exposing themes because they have a not so refined cultural baggage. They writing in the same way they speak. They have not concerned with coherency, clearly and cohesion of ideas. Fazenda, Fourez and Ricoeur among other authors were used as theoretic subsidy to the research. The methodology used followed principles before applied by Gauthier: metaphor as reference and Pineau with Life Stories and Fazenda drawing up ways to an investigation that has Ego-history as presuppose. Listening, challenge, detachment e humility were some of interdisciplinary principles responsible for generation of attitudes that promoted an impulse for integrated actions in Portuguese Language Classes. Among them we mention use of resources as different texts reading and narratives elaboration and the search of metaphors. The research looked for make analysis in which measure these mentioned procedures can contribute to a better communication in education. The conclusions could reveal that classes with literature incursion can promote the sense of self-investigation in the students helping them to face challenges and opening new horizons in their lives. The integrated actions can became elements able to promoting self-identification and self-changeseng
