<title>A extensão universitária na área da saúde: uma revisão integrativa</title>
      <link>https://repositorio.pucsp.br/jspui/handle/handle/45506</link>
<description>Título: A extensão universitária na área da saúde: uma revisão integrativa
Abstract: Introduction: Contemporary medical education faces the challenge of integrating technical-scientific knowledge with the ethical, societal, and humanistic dimensions of care. University extension, provided for in the national curricular guidelines and the national education plan, emerges as a powerful strategy for this process, by articulating teaching, service, and community. Objective: to analyze the scientific production on extension activities in the health field, especially the medical field Method: this study carried out an integrative literature review. The research was conducted in databases such as Periodic CAPES, SciELO, Medline, and Lilacs, with a period between 2015 and 2024. Strict inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied, resulting in the selection of three scientific articles. The date were organized in spreadsheets and analyzed qualitatively. Results: despite the scarcity of publications on the subject, the experiences reported indicate positive impacts of extension on the critical, ethical and humanized training of students. Strengthening ties with the community, developing interpersonal skills and encouraging reflection on the social role of the physician. Challenges such as the low institutionalization of extension and structural limitations persist. Considerations: university extension has significant formative potential and requires greater institution recognition and integration into curriculum. Expanding scientific production is essential to consolidate it as a structuring axis of medical education in Brazil

<title>Análise da percepção dos discentes sobre o atual projeto pedagógico do curso de Medicina da PUC-SP</title>
      <link>https://repositorio.pucsp.br/jspui/handle/handle/45446</link>
<description>Título: Análise da percepção dos discentes sobre o atual projeto pedagógico do curso de Medicina da PUC-SP
Abstract: The Medical School of the Faculty of Medicine of Sorocaba, currently known as the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences (FCMS) of PUC-SP, began its academic activities in 1950, with the support of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (USP). Its curriculum was heavily influenced by Flexnerian principles, centered on medical specialization and primarily curative practices, in line with the rigorous standards for medical education of that time. In response to emerging demands in the national context of medical education, particularly those related to new pedagogical conceptions, the FCMS concluded, in 2006, the implementation of its new Curricular Pedagogical Project (CPP), extending the internship period to two years, introducing active teaching-learning methodologies, ensuring early contact of students with patients, and incorporating clinical disciplines from the initial years of the program. Since then, several adjustments have been made to the curriculum, which became a "living" instrument, evolving through spontaneous adaptations or scheduled periodic reviews. The main objective of this study was to assess, from the students' perspective, how the pedagogical activities of the FCMS–PUC-SP medical course is currently being conducted, eighteen years after the implementation of the new curriculum, which brought significant changes compared to the previous one. A questionnaire was developed using Google Forms® and responses were analyzed through a qualitative approach using the Collective Subject Discourse (CSD) methodology, supported by the DSCSoft® software. A total of 47 students participated, providing open-ended responses regarding the strengths and weaknesses of each teaching activity and the formative assessments introduced with the curricular reform. They also offered spontaneous reflections about the whole course. The most highly rated activities were those with a strong practical component, such as Skills Training, Clinical Internships, and Applied Content Sessions. Conversely, Mentorship was perceived as the least relevant to professional development. Formative assessments were reported to occur with some regularity (68.1%), yet infrequently, being conducted once a month or less in approximately 78% of cases. The Mini-CEX had been applied to only 27 students and, when formative feedback was given, it was often perceived as too brief and minimally beneficial. Analysis through the CSD method revealed that textual elaboration on strengths was sparse and notably less developed compared to the expression of weaknesses. Positive comments most frequently praised the pedagogical project and the use of active methodologies. In contrast, criticisms most often addressed the lack of standardization in teaching and assessment, the absence of a continuous faculty development program, the lack of periodic course evaluations and the insufficient organization and planning of educational activities. The reform of the Curricular Pedagogical Project at the PUC-SP School of Medicine was undoubtedly necessary for the modernization of the teachinglearning process. Making the student the protagonist of their own pursuit of knowledge also places upon them the weight of personal responsibility in that endeavor

<title>Eventos de educação médica online na perspectiva de médicos, professores e estudantes de medicina</title>
      <link>https://repositorio.pucsp.br/jspui/handle/handle/44230</link>
<description>Título: Eventos de educação médica online na perspectiva de médicos, professores e estudantes de medicina
Abstract: Digital interactive technologies (DIT) were widely used during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure the holding of continuing medical education events. Objective: to analyze, from the perspective of physicians, medical students, and faculties, how they perceived and experienced participation in online medical events mediated by DIT and what influence this new trend in continuing medical education had during this period. Methods: a quantitative, exploratory, and analytical study. Active physicians, medical students, and faculty members from different institutions participated in the study. The 418 participants answered an online semi-structured questionnaire to collect their perceptions and experiences as assistants, speakers, or presenters in continuing medical education events throughout the pandemic. Results: The age of the participants was 41.3 ± 15.8 years (mean ± SD); 47.1% were female, 25.1% were students, and 25.8% were medical professors. Among the participants, 92.3% agreed that DIT facilitated access to medical updates during the pandemic. There was a significantly greater number of participants as assistants in all continuing education activities (p&lt;0.01) and as speakers or exhibitors, there was a more significant number of participants only in courses (p&lt;0.05) and video classes/webinars during the pandemic (p&lt;0.001). For the majority, participation in conferences and classes/updates was mixed with regular activities; the DTI implemented during the pandemic was positive in the sense of improving knowledge and professional performance (p&lt;0.001); DIT facilitated relationships between professionals and students in the medical field (p&lt;0.0001), and there is disagreement that online conferences are better than in-person ones (p&lt;0.001). The open-ended questions reveal more factors that favor than hinder participation in DIT-mediated continuing education events. Conclusion: this study showed that, in the view of doctors, students and medical faculties, the advancement of DIT during the pandemic ensured the maintenance of continuing medical education events, with advantages and disadvantages for participants, with an increase in the number of participations in these educational activities and increased the willingness to hold hybrid events, to meet the preferences of professionals and students who choose to participate in person or online

<title>Ofertas da plataforma Telessaúde no Brasil: como estamos?</title>
      <link>https://repositorio.pucsp.br/jspui/handle/handle/42455</link>
<description>Título: Ofertas da plataforma Telessaúde no Brasil: como estamos?
Abstract: The Telehealth Brazil Networks Program (TBNP), established in 2007, seeks to integrate teaching and teleconsulting services, formative second opinion, tele diagnosis and tele-education through information and communication technologies. It aims to improve the quality of primary health care through Telehealth Centers (TCs) within Brazilian states. With the objective of identifying, describing, analyzing and comparing the TCs, this study used information from the Virtual Health Library (https://aps.bvs.br/rede-de-colaboradores/) and social networks, accessed between 14/06/23 and 17/09/23. The data showed that 74% of the 28 TCs are active, with only 22% offering all the services provided. Teleconsulting showed a significant increase (739%; 2013 to 2020) and is offered by 94% of the TCs. Only the Rio Grande do Sul TC provides free access; it is the TC with the highest number of teleconsultations (23,832/year; 2013 to 2020). The percentage of referrals avoided, available only in the Minas Gerais TC, was 74% by August 2023. There is great heterogeneity in the presentation of offers and performance data between the TCs. It is concluded that TBNP has flaws, analyzed according to Donabedian’s classifications for the quality of health systems, at the levels of structure (conformation of sites, system operation), process (interaction with the population assisted) and results (changes in indicators and behaviors and referrals avoided). The TCs need to be standardized and updated to help improve services, adherence and use of the activities on offer, as well as the presentation of indicators proving that the programme's objectives have been achieved. The government's commitment to keeping the program in continuous operation and with the necessary quality is still a crucial point. This is what we hope for in the not-too-distant future
